Tools
Tools applicable to Grade Control ring design are available on the Mining | Grade Control tab.
On the Grade Control tab, in the Dig Lines group:
-
Click Create Dig Lines to identify optimal grade control dig lines for an open pit bench using cut-off grades.
-
Click New Polygon to begin digitising a new closed string in the display. As an alternative, press the 'N' hot key to start a new polygon or string.
-
Select New Polygon | New Symmetrical Polygon to digitise the radius of a circle that will be used to create a symmetrical polygon. You can then specify a start angle and the number of points (sides) of the polygon.
-
Click Cut Polygons to split a polygon into multiple polygons using one or more cutting strings. The Cut Polygons tool can be used to create ore and waste parcels for grade control, or to subdivide a bench into blocks for scheduling.
-
Select Cut | Polygon Networks to generate a network of closed polygons from the intersection of selected polylines and polygons.
On the Grade Control tab, in the Grade Control group:
-
If ore and waste parcels are defined by polygons, select Setup (Polygons) to estimate reserves for polygons representing dig lines.
-
When wireframes are generated as a result of the grade control calculation, select Setup (Wireframes) to estimate reserves for wireframes representing dig lines.
-
Click Tag Ore to select ORE polygons or wireframes. Ore volumes are adjusted to exclude interior Waste parcels. A (+++) hatch is applied to the ORE parcels.
-
Click Tag Waste to select WASTE polygons or wireframes. If an Ore parcel contains Waste, its volume is reported as (ORE – WASTE). A (---) hatching is applied to the WASTE parcels.
-
Click Tag Top Surface to select a top bounding surface that will be used to limit the ore and waste parcels.
-
Click Tag Bottom Surface to select a bottom bounding surface that will be used to limit the ore and waste parcels.
-
Click Clear Tags to clear any grade control polygon or wireframe selections you have made.
-
Click Auto Save Extruded Wireframes to toggle automatic saving of the wireframes extruded from tagged polygons when updating the report.
-
Click Update Report to produce a grade control report for the tagged polygons or wireframes.
-
Click Auto Update Report to toggle automatic reporting on and off. When selected (ON), the report is automatically updated as tagged parcels (polygons or wireframes) are edited.
On the Grade Control tab, in the Blasting group:
-
Click Blast Displacement to model a visual representation of the potential displacement of ore blocks resulting from a blast.
